Publication ethics

The IIoET Journal follows the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). IIoET intends to apply for COPE membership once the Journal is established.

  • Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE guidance.
  • Authorship and contributorship must reflect real contribution; contributions are declared.
  • Complaints and appeals about editorial decisions go to contact@iioet.org with "Journal" as the subject.
  • Conflicts of interest are declared by authors, reviewers and editors.
  • Data and reproducibility: authors are encouraged to share data and code where they can.
  • Ethical oversight: research involving people must have appropriate ethical approval.
  • Intellectual property: plagiarism and duplicate publication are not accepted.
  • Post-publication discussion and corrections: corrections and retractions are published openly and linked from the original paper.
  • Generative AI: AI tools cannot be authors; their use in preparing a manuscript must be declared.
