The IIoET Journal

About the Journal

Aims

The IIoET Journal publishes rigorous, peer-reviewed work on the practice, assurance and governance of emerging technology. It is written for practitioners as well as researchers: every paper should leave a reader better able to build, secure, assure or govern the systems it describes.

Scope

The Journal covers four domains, and particularly welcomes work on where they meet.

  • Artificial Intelligence: AI assurance and governance; Security of models and AI supply chains; Agentic and autonomous systems; Responsible deployment in regulated sectors; AI and the changing shape of technology careers.
  • Quantum: Quantum computing and its applications; Post-quantum cryptography and migration planning; Quantum communications and sensing; Quantum readiness for organisations and government.
  • Blockchain and Web3: Distributed ledger architecture; Smart contract security and assurance; Tokenisation and digital assets; Decentralised identity; Regulation and standards.
  • Cyber Security: Security architecture for emerging technology; AI in offence and defence; Cryptographic transition; Resilience and assurance; Security leadership.

Two streams, kept distinct

IIoET publishes in two streams. The Journal carries peer-reviewed papers, published in volumes and issues, annually to begin with and later quarterly. Insights carries articles, essays, commentary and briefings under editorial review, published continuously. Every page is labelled with its stream so the Journal's peer-reviewed status is never in doubt.

Identifiers

An ISSN for the online edition will be requested from the UK ISSN centre at the British Library, and DOIs will be assigned through Crossref membership. Both will be shown on every paper once assigned.
